May is here!

Tomorrow it'll be May which is total chaos for us. Birthdays fall as follows: Jeff 8th, neices & nephew 10th, Garrison 11th, anniversary 12th, Browder 25th. Mother's Day falls in there too!
I'm having fun w/ bright spring fabrics and bought some seersucker stripes today - red & white, pink, lt blue & lt green. Can't wait to try something with them! People ask me if I can get t-shirts. I can if necessary! Lately people have been bringing me great shirts from Walmart, Target & Old Navy so if you can buy locally and bring them to me that is great! That way you are sure the size is right. I can order, but there can be $12-20 in shipping and other fees depending on the size of the order. It's best to order a lot and I don't always have a big enough order. But, I can certainly get shirts if I need to. I'm going to Sarah Stone Sat. to meet w/ someone about embroidery & hooping. I'm hoping to get some tips and see if there is anything I can be doing differently to make things any easier!

On another note I just finished a wonderful bible study on the book Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney - Seven Virtues of a Godly Wife and Mother. I highly recommend this book!! I plan to read it again and again!!

April 26 photos

Here are a few pics I took yest. of the kids in the backyard! I sewed a little last night and need to play "catch up" this afternoon and tonight! I'm going to try to work out a better schedule this week so I'm not sewing at 10:30 at night! That seems to be the only time I have zero distractions so it doesn't bother me, but Jeff would probably rather not go to sleep to the bum bum bum bum bum of a sewing machine!

alphabets...

As you can see I stitched the lower g from the new applique alphabet! These letters are SO CUTE!! They come in 3, 4 and 5 inches, upper and lower case, plus numbers 0-9. I have found with applique alphabets that the stitching is slightly imperfect - the stitching is all computerized. When I say imperfect I mean that the satin stitch is not as thick as I'd like for it to be. The satin stitch is the final stitch around the design. No matter how close I trim the fabric, there are loose threads b/c the satin stitch isn't thick or wide enough. I trim all loose thread of course! Some designs have nice thick fat satin stitching and some don't!!

Regardless, these letters are CUTE all alone or with a name monogrammed across it which I have done w/ my chunkier alphabet.

I also did the giraffe which is absolutely adorable!!

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions!

New stuff

I got a couple of new designs over the weekend which I will try to sew & post a pic of today. One is a cute giraffe and the other is a new applique alphabet which comes in 3, 4 and 5 inch sizes, lower AND upper case AND numbers! I'm dying to try it out! I have also just done the crab for someone in lighter colors and it is super cute and summery! I will post a pic of it also.

Better get back to work...

What's new?

Kristy Lee Cook finally got the boot! As did Robin & Marshana!! I love Shayne!! I keep asking myself - Is she for real? I've never seen anyone lay down as much as she does when she's talking to Matt? (I'm a Bachelor addict. I've never missed a season.)

I've been sewing a lot w/ the new fonts and LOVE them! The Kim fonts are so cute and Tipsy is my new favorite!

I've also been sewing a lot for out of towners! I'm happy to do this and mail your stuff to you!!

Turn around time is about a week these days. Sometimes I can be pretty quick but w/ a newborn I'm not as fast as I used to be. My sewing time is now sew a little, fix a bottle, feed, sew, change a diaper, sew, throw a load of clothes in, sew... I've been asked how I sew w/ 3 kids and my answer lately is - STARBUCKS!! Amie introduced me to a cool drink loaded w/ caffeine I presume. Anyway it gives me lots of energy!

I'll try to add a couple of new pictures today.

p.s. Mallory is 2 months old tomorrow!

Local artist

Below is a blog for Amanda Morgan Roberson. The "commissioned" pink & green angel on her blog is a painting she did for Mallory's room. She did a spectacular job and I highly recommend her! I also have one of the cathedral top paintings too! E-mail her if you need any artwork!!

Who would have thought?

Who would have thought that Walmart would have the hottest girl shorts of the season?? So far they come in turqoise, pink, lavendar, green, and hot pink - all a big fat cute gingham! A friend had the brilliant idea of buying them in big sizes (4 or 5T), cutting them up and using that material to do patches on t-shirts (see photos). You can get at least 4, if not 6, patches out of 1 pair of shorts. I'm tempted to stock pile some of these cute shorts for Mallory for a couple of years down the road!!

The UPS man delivered 3 new fonts on Friday - Kim, Kim multi and Tipsy! I put a photo of the Kims on the blog. Tipsy is cute too! I added links on the blog to all of my fonts.
